Which flowers are used for the Bach Flower therapy?
The flowers that are used come from plants, shrubs and trees that Dr. Edward Bach mainly found in England. There are only two flowers who were found in other countries, they are olive and vine.
The following is an explanation from Dr. Bach himself: “Certain specific blossoms of plants, shrubs and trees of a higher nature are able to raise the vibration of the being and open up our channels for the reception of the spiritual Self. The flowers are able to flood the being with the particular virtue we need, and washing out that which is causing harm. They are able, like beautiful music or any glorious uplifting thing, which gives us inspiration, to raise our very natures and bring us nearer to our souls. “
A couple examples of flowers of plants are Gentian, Mimulus and Vervain. Blossoms from shrubs are for example Hornbeam and Gorse. And some blossoms from trees that are used are Beech and Sweet Chestnut.
There are 39 Bach Flowers in total, 38 of which are made from real flowers from plants, trees and shrubs. There is one Bach remedy that is not made from flowers, which is Rock Water. They have used water from a natural source to make this one.
Every flower works on a specific mood. Most of the time a combination of Bach Flowers are taken to give a desired result. A maximum of 6 can be combined. Through my knowledge and experience I have compose a few standard combinations. These are specifically aimed at a particular problem. As each person is different and has a different way of responding, the best combination is a custom-made one. This combination will focus on the emotions and states of mind, which are important to you at that time.
